Icing on the Cake
When a fellow wedding photographer asked me to photograph his wedding. I didn’t really have to think about it, the answer was yes. Being able to document the story of a fellow creative, was a privilege. It was a statement of trust. I was given the opportunity to share the story of a fellow storyteller. L.M. Montgomery perhaps describes it best, “The world calls them its singers and poets, and artists and storytellers (photographers); but they are just people who have never forgotten the way to fairyland.’
And I didn’t have to elaborate the benefits of having a first look, he already had a location in mind. – I could type a thousand words explaining how a first look frees up your wedding timeline so you have the benefit of being able to spend more time at your reception. I could even explain that it allows wedding creatives to be photographed during the best lighting in the day or you could just scroll down to see why I always recommend a first look.
The icing on the cake was that this was a traditional Pakistani Wedding. It was almost like I was photographing a prince and his princess.
